UNLESS Contest

Happy Tuesday!

Yesterday, the Art Enrichment students went to the Philadelphia Zoo to hear about their results in the UNLESS Contest. This contest is run by the zoo each year, and was inspired by the book "The Lorax." It encourages students to become aware of different animals around the world that are endangered. Students then share this information with the school and take steps to save the animals by contacting business and community leaders.

This year's animal was the Red Panda. It is endangered because it's habitat is being lost when trees are cut down for lumber. There are two Red Pandas at the zoo if you would like to see them!

This year, our students placed 3rd in the competition, and won $250.00 for the art program at our school.

Way to go, friends!

Your Friend,

Bean Bear
