Phanatic About Reading!
Hi Families and Friends!
Ms. DiGiacobbe's class participated again in the "Phanatic About Reading" program which encourages area school students from about 240 districts to read at least 15 minutes a night. Students wrote letters to the Phanatic monthly to update him on their reading progress and shared photos of their current reads and book projects.
In April, the Phanatic chooses students who have shown dedication to reading. These students have completed their reading logs, developed literacy habits, and have improved their reading skills.
This year, the Phanatic chose Iyanah Dickens as one of the area's most improved readers! Iyanah worked on choosing books that were right for her and kept the Phanatic updated about her reading journey. She has shown improvement in her reading in and out of the classroom. We are so proud of her!
Also, a special shout-out goes to Ms. D! This is the second time one of her individual students has been selected for an award through the reading program. Her class also won a whole school visit from the Phanatic because of their effort in reading. Way to go, Ms. D!
