Art Enrichment Students Awarded Grant
Hello!
This week was quite exciting for Mrs. Staab and her Art Enrichment students! They found out that they were the winners of the Energy for the Arts grant from South Jersey Gas. Casey Shea from South Jersey Gas visited the students on Thursday and presented them with a check for $1,000.00!
Mrs. Staab and her students plan to use this money to fund their community outreach programs they do each year as part of the Philadelphia Zoo's UNLESS contest. This year, the contest focuses on the Golden Lion Tamarin. Students will be spreading awareness about these adorable primates, while teaching community members how reducing electricity usage and working to preserve water will impact the habitat. The Art Enrichment students are still working on planning their activities, but have discussed plans for the Pine Hill New Year's Eve celebration, as well as having a station at the Art Fair.
